How high can they go?

Tried making tiny chocolate muffins with my new silicone moulds and was delighted with the results.  As the kids ate their lunch I did magic with my pink food colouring and turned white water icing into pink Icing right before their eyes!   Ruby was impressed and they both just wanted to stick their finger in the bowl and have a pink iced cake for their pudding - who could resist their little pleas!

Had a lovely afternoon with Karen and took a walk round her village and a trip to the school play park (we were allowed in as the school is on half term).  Kids all wanted to follow Freya walking across the top of the climbing frame.  Karen holding on tight, she took her kids across (she had to as I was too short to reach).  Ruby then wanted a go, so we both helped her up onto the bar and Karen helped her across - Ruby does not have a fear of heights and her balance is pretty good.  None the less Karen was very pleased when Ruby was safely on the ground - it is always much more of a worry when it is someone else's child she told me.  We drew the line at Rivan and distracted him with climbing.

With the evenings drawing out slowly but surely, I find myself loosing track of time and tonight was no exception - as we sat round looking at the organic seed catalogue and talking about gardening, the kids were playing together in the lounge I suddenly realised that we had to make a move or the jacket potatoes that were in the oven would be jacket bullets!  I look forward to warmer evenings when we can let the kids dine outside together and we adults enjoy a glass of wine.  We made it home in time and enjoyed telling Ben all about our day.
