School for Ruby this morning so after we dropped her off we came home and tackled a job I have been meaning to do for ages – clean out the car! With Rivan in the driver seat pointing out the dirt, I had the Hoover at the ready. A box for the books so that they are accessible when I am driving and then a bag for the rubbish it took a good half an hour but very rewarding when the job was completed.
A warm afternoon took us out into the garden as it was a good day to plant some flowers and pumpkins – large seeds which were perfect for the kids to plant. They both really now understand how to plant seeds and the order of jobs (compost, tapping down, sowing, watering and finally putting ready in the greenhouse). I was quite taken by surprise how much they had both remembered from the last time. Sunflower seeds sent by their nana Liz (thank you very much) and pumpkin seeds left over from the Halloween party last year (thank you Vanessa). The salads that I planted a couple of weeks are now sprouting but still no sign of the tomatoes – maybe I have done something wrong so will have to “google it” and try again.
