The hunt for the eggs
Both kids have settled into a good routine now and have got used to different beds and surroundings. It is amazing how quickly the week is shooting by – I know since I had the kids my life has never passed so fast – they always say that time goes quickly when you are having fun! We think about the man of the house (Bennie boy) working hard to build our house for us – ruby and Rivan both speak to him each morning to say hello and see how he is doing. His progress has been good and he is pleased with the results – we look forward to seeing it when we return. Rivan has learnt a new word “ello” he now says but his main use for this word is specific to Adrian. When Rivan wakes he says to me “ello” and I know that he wants to say hello and go and find Adrian – it is very sweet.
We took a walk out and about this morning, the kids enjoying taking in the sights of Argentat – a bit different from feeding the chickens and goat. We went to get some Easter eggs for the hunt that we had been invited to this afternoon and returned with a little bag to take with us. We had a lovely afternoon joining in with a local mother and toddler group that is run down here by a friend of mum’s and the kids had a ball playing with the other children and enjoying the play area. Ruby returned with more chocolate eggs in her basket than we took, Rivan did not collect many as he found his first one, opened it up and then found a scooter to play with – doesn’t take much to keep him happy.
Bath time has been replaced by shower time – I put them both in the shower the other night as we were running really late and since then they have both insisted on a shower over a bath. The shower at mums has a big square base and room for them both to sit and enjoy the water washing away the days grime and chocolate! Two weary kids retired to bed and left the evening for us adults to enjoy.
