So here it is......
Time to transform the garden - I was out late last night cutting the grass and getting ready for the tent which is going up today. First job was to clean an old swimming pool bottom which Ben had cut to size - this would be going underneath the ground sheet - the kids helped by brushing off the water as Ben cleaned with the jet wash.
Once that was done it was time to get the tent out and see how complicated it was to put up. Assembly instructions in Dutch - thankfully there were picture diagrams too so we were not completely lost. An hour or so later the kids came out to a semi erect tent - 'wow' said Ruby as they ran inside to check it out. I left Ben to finish securing the tent and what a great job he did - he had bought some metal posts to put deep into the ground that the lines were not a trip hazard for the kids and also to ensure that we did not loose the tent during the occasional strong winds we have. The tent looked very at home in the garden and I know that we will get to use it lots - a great purchase!
Our first meal in our new outdoor room was shared with friends (miss piggy and her grand daughter). Beautiful gifts (made by Kaleshia) were given to Ruby and Rivan - these were quickly stuck on their doors so as not to get them damaged and then we all enjoyed the afternoon. Ruby got quite frustrated at not being able to do the same as her older friend and we had lots of tears - a combination of tiredness and frustration. Rivan decided he did not want to go to bed for a sleep after lunch and kept going like a champion until his bed time story - he was asleep before his head touched the pillow and I spent the end of the evening out in the garden cutting grass and trying to get the strawberry bushes under control - I stopped when it got dark as it was most definitely time for a glass of wine and a shower
