Indian summer? please....

The weekend arrives with great speed and everyone pleased at the end of the first week at school, today is hot and sticky with a very warm wind so as we pack the car up for the day we put in our swimming costumes and towels hoping to cool off.  First stop the mill to get more flour – I had run out and refused to pay the prices that the shops charge – I wish that he also sold rye flour but sadly no so have ordered this from the UK.   

Catching up with friends is one of the best ways to spend the day - she had completed her first week teaching in French schools and was glad of the weekend break.  The kids were quick to run upstairs and play in the girl’s bedroom - which is super cool with hammock chairs hanging from the ceiling and lots of dolly, mums were quick to turn the coffee machine on and get a caffeine fix.  

Sadly the pool was out of bounds - so the kids had a go at catching flies and anything else that was floating on the top and then when it had cooled down a little we took a walk to the play park and then down to the river to cool off.  I hope that we have a late burst of summer for us all to enjoy making the transition from summer into autumn a bit easier - keeping everything crossed!
