The preperation begins...

So with Ruby's party just around the corner (every morning she wakes now she asks how many more sleeps until by birthday?) we have turned our attention to making some pretty things to decorate the fence and the garden with.  A quick trip to the local tip proved very lucrative in terms of finding great big pieces of cardboard and with a bowl and plate to draw round soon we had 6 big flowers to start painting (I so hope for a dry day for the party - don't mind if it is cold but dry would be goooood). 

We did monsters for Rivan and so I thought great big flowers for Ruby would be fitting.   Our friends joined us
for the afternoon and we set about painting - mixing colours and asking the kids what colours mixed together would make - the inevitable happened and we ended up with a couple of pots of brown thanks to Ruby - she  just can't resist mixing the colours up together - we did manage to get a few flowers painted before the brown appeared and the kids lost interest - I will finish the rest off one evening or another afternoon.
