We love spring time!

Posh haircuts for everyone this morning, Ruby now has a smart little bob and Rivan looks very dashing with his reduced length.  Our delivery from the UK was coming in today (pickle, salad cream, bacon, baby lotion and a few treats too - hot cross buns and a couple of Easter eggs for the kids).  We were told that delivery would be between 9 - 12, so had to hang round the house for the morning waiting for the phone call.  Finally at 12.45 the call came and I went to collect our supplies while the kids had their afternoon sleep.   

The weather forecast was proved wrong today; no rain came (despite me getting my salad and onions in yesterday).  Everything is looking so beautiful at the moment, the spring time blossom is just outstanding and I do not remember it being so stunning last year.  Each morning when I make the school run, I am greeted by many beautiful magnolia trees waving their glorious blossom good morning.  All the fruit trees are in full blossom too and the world around us is waking up from the winter sleep and I just love spring time - full of promises of the summer to come.

Kids in bed early after lunch so we are able to head out to Chauvigny for the afternoon.  The afternoon beckons us to take a walk and tire the kids out.  Once again we pass the pristine garden that was filled with dahlia’s last summer, today tulips and hyacinths greeted us.   The fantastic apple tree blossom provided sensations for our senses, it looked wondrous, and it smelt gentle and inviting - if I were a bee I would not be able to resist!  

Rivan enjoyed sitting up in the tree seeing the world from a different perspective and would have quite happily stayed there for much longer.  Ruby enjoyed being the queen of the castle and held on to Rivan tight so I could take a picture.  

It was one of those afternoons when you are just so glad to be alive and living in such a beautiful world.  Clocks go forward tonight so we loose an hours sleep but I welcome the lighter evenings and look forward to filling them with gardening, horse riding and being outside.

Guess what? We walked by that tree today and all the blossoms are gone and it turns out that that tree I had taken for an apple tree is prooving to be a cherry tree.
