Azur and Asmar

Ruby off to the cinema this morning to see Azur and Asmar, a film that I had not really heard about until I looked it up on the internet so that I would be able to talk to her about her morning, what she thought of the film, did she understand it etc....

Bracing wind

Story telling with a bit of magic thrown in

Story telling to toddlers and young children is a special talent – I remember as a child loving Jackanory with the plethora of storytellers and fabulous books chosen by the presenters, I am glad that Jackanory junior is still available now on Cbeebies...

Understanding consequences

Ruby is 3 and ½ now, has a good understanding of the language (both french and English), knows what is right and wrong, knows when mum is cross and is quite intelligent I believe. Having removed the bars on her cost a few weeks ago now (for the 4th time),...

One born every minute

« One born every minute » on channel 4 for me is compelling watching – I stumbled across the series a couple of weeks ago and was in awe of some of the women giving birth (for those who have not seen it, they have put 40 camera’s into a maternity ward)....

Ruby did not feel like the toy library this afternoon so we stayed at home and as I put some music on Ruby wanted to put on her new party dress that Daisy had given her. Rivan wanted to join in too and pointed to her ballerina dress – eager to get out...

He hath no fear

Good morning at school for Ruby and Ben collected her, grabbing a baguette and 4 sweets (2 for Rivan and 2 for Ruby) as their weekly treat. In the car she told dad that she would hold the bag and not eat them as I had told her to save them for her “prize”...

At last out in the garden

Fair weather bought a cheer to all of us this morning, a bright sunny day does wonders for the spirit. Had friends over this afternoon for tea, and we were able to sit out in the garden and enjoy a cuppa while the kids played in the house and on the trampoline....

I announced that I had to look for my running shoes for my exercise class this evening, Ruby laughed and said “mummy does not have running shoes, Daddy does but not mummy”! So the fact that my daughter does not believe mummy has running shoes is a reflection...
